About SpyEng
SpyEng is a Cork-based engineering consultancy specialising in Building Energy Rating (BER) assessments and comprehensive home energy consultancy services. Led by Manus Darby, a fully SEAI-registered assessor with over a decade of hands-on experience, we work with homeowners, landlords, developers, and construction companies throughout Cork and Munster.
We understand that navigating building regulations, energy compliance, and assessment processes can be overwhelming. Our Approach
We visit your property and carry out a thorough survey, examining the building fabric, heating systems, ventilation, and insulation to build a complete energy profile.
Using DEAP software (the SEAI-approved calculation methodology), we compute your BER rating and generate detailed recommendations for improving your home's energy performance.
Your BER certificate is registered on the SEAI national database and issued to you within 48 hours. We also provide a comprehensive advisory report detailing upgrade pathways and recommendations.
Credentials & Accreditations
Fully registered with the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland. All certificates are issued on the SEAI national BER database and carry legal validity for property sale and letting.
Proficient in Dwelling Energy Assessment Procedure (DEAP), Ireland's official energy rating calculation methodology for residential buildings.
All testing services are carried out in accordance with Irish Building Regulations (TGD Part E) and NSAI standards, ensuring reports are accepted by building control authorities.
